After being bitten by the acting bug in high school and words of encouragement from his drama teacher, a golden ticket audition in Orlando, Florida landed Chaz Carter a spot at the highly reputable American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. He wasted no time diving into the world of stage theater, playing a wide range of roles. Most notably Sammy Goldenhaum (Lead) in The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, Benedick (Supporting) in Much Ado About Nothing, and Jimmy Zoole in P.S. Your Cat is Dead.
Chaz fine tuned his stage craft there before moving on to J.R.S. Studios under the guidance of John Rosenfeld and Britt Rentschler. Having had his hand in everything from Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acting for the Camera, Cold Reading, Regional Dialects, and Improvisation & Sketch Comedy as a Troupe member of the New Young Americans at the I.O. West in Hollywood. It's safe to say he's ambitious , driven and frankly ready to destroy any and all in his path (insert maniacal laugh).
He’s landed quite a few roles in short films, music videos, comedy sketches. Notably his biggest roles to date as Jed Smith in: I Lost My Phone and Lenny in: The Paradox Man. Becoming a jack of all trades, he’s embarked on a stand-up comedy career in the last 2yrs to much success, and is fastly becoming an up and coming fixture in the Los Angeles Comedy scene, you can catch him regularly performing at places like: The Comedy Store, Ice House, Flappers, and many other shows in, around and outside of LA, as well as recent comedy festivals such as the Glendale Comedy Festival and The 2nd Annual Black Comedy Festival, follow him on social media to stay up to date on his current shows.
Hailing all the way from Tampa, Florida he is the oldest of six siblings and of African-American and Latino descent. Family, friends and colleagues are most likely to describe Chaz as charming, charismatic, with a big heart, caring nature and always in on a great joke and a good laugh. A fitness enthusiast and part time yogi who’s into hiking, traveling, live music, food, dancing and shower singing (90’s R&B). Outgoing by nature and always down for something new, bold, and adventurous.
